Right now I'm carrying the Stieg Larsson trilogy "Millennium" so enough reading for more then one trip. Adobe has a great reader that allows for many formats. I replaced my normal laptop with an Assus eeePC which is more compact and has a battery life of 10 hours, very convenient during long flights (in case you don't have an electrical outlet in your seat). This tiny laptop allows for more space in my laptop tote (which I replaced by a combination tote/handbag. In my combination bag I don't carry the charger (put it in my suitcase) which allows for even more space. So now I have room enough for books, magazines, purse, make up, granola bars, small bottle of water (bought at the tax free store) and all those other things that you need when on the road.
